Fantastic site! Great idea. Victims need a way to tell our stories in a safe public forum. I have found that victims will only feel that justice has been served if they can really have authentic voice—they can tell their story complete with facts and emotions to listening witnesses, including the perpetrator and the judicial authority. Your site provides victims voice. Very cool.

I can never get enough of "forgiveness." It seems like such an illusive quality in the midst of the hurt. Thank you so much for setting the bar so much higher!

When I was growing up I was sexually abused by my father. I was angry for a very long time. I got into trouble, dropped out of school and was lost for a long time. I became pregnant and gave my son up for adoption. Many years have passed since then and I have slowly begun to rebuild my life. I am an artist and have been re united with my son. I can't begin to articulate the happiness I feel in his presence. As well I am now in a wonderful marriage to a man that I went to school with. These relationships have given me wings and I am now working with an artist in Canada. Dr Michael Irving has built a monument to survivors of abuse and I am working with him to collect one million handprints on paper. A person would place their hand on a piece of paper and on or around the hand draw or write a message of how they want the world to be for children and for all of us who have known abuse. This will be a collective message or prayer of how powerful healing is through art and forgiveness. If you would like to be part of this project please email me at artist@reddingmgt.com. Dr Irving's website is www.childabusemonument.com. I hope that collectively we can all come to the realization that hatred, anger and blame only breed more anger and hatred. It is kindness and forgiveness that heals our broken hearts.
